A horrendous act of Domestic Violence took the lives of my precious mother (age 44) and beloved sister (age 26). One day Lillian Katherine left her spouse after countless bouts of physical abuse. She and Risshan moved in with our mother where they would feel safe. That night, Lillian’s husband came to the house, broke in, and killed both Lillians with a sawed-off shotgun. This senseless act of violence has affected my life, family, church members, neighbors, and friends. Lillian Katherine Leak, my sister, was a thriving photographer at a major Telecommunications Company. She was a loving wife, mother (Risshan, age 6) and had a passion for helping others in need. Lillian Catherine Leak, my mother, was a successful Underwriter for an Insurance Company. She was a loving and supportive wife, an awesome mother and grandmother and she too had a passion for helping others in need. She was my mentor, confidant, encourager and my Best Friend. My life without her will never be the same. Her unconditional love was not just reserved for her family but it spread to all who knew her.
As these women had a passion for life and for helping others, the Lillian and Lillian Foundation is a Not-for-Profit Organization that provides Help, Hope and Healing. We focus on Domestic Violence Prevention through Education and Awareness while providing comprehensive services in the beloved community that removes barriers for people affected and impacted by acts of Domestic Violence.
